We currently work in East Africa, North America, South Asia (India) and Southern Africa and are expanding to other geographies. Our work includes a “Leadership Journey,” which focuses on giving mid-career women the tools, along with peer, mentor and coach support, to successfully use their voice, expertise and leadership for health impact. It also includes increasing awareness on the value of women’s leadership in health and what “reimagined” leadership looks, sounds, and acts like. Ultimately our goal is to encourage and support concrete action by women, male allies, institutional leaders, governments, partners and high level champions to change the face of leadership in health, both globally and nationally, at the individual, institutional and societal level. Position Summary
WomenLift Health is seeking a Program Coordinator to work under the direction of the WomenLift Health Program Lead, Senior Program Manager in India, to contribute to the implementation and administration of programmatic functions to achieve the objectives of WomenLift Health.
The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Program Lead and other members of the small and nimble globally distributed WomenLift Health team to contribute to designing, building, and implementing the systems and processes to support the implementation of the WomenLift Health India training program (“The Leadership Journey”) for mid-career women leaders in global health in India. The India team currently operates 3 one-year Leadership Journeys and many other shorter-term leadership development programs with partners and plans to scale up its engagements in the coming years. The Program Coordinator should be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, someone who pays close attention to detail and takes initiative. They should have an eye to constant improvement and streamlining of systems and processes related to the India Leadership Journey and other programs being run by the India team. The ideal candidate should be able to work adeptly both independently and in a team. This recruitment is for 1 full-time (100% FTE) position.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Working with the India Team, maintain the processes and systems that support the India Leadership Journey and other programs, including but not limited to:
- Support the call for applications, management & review of applications, and onboarding of the women leaders selected for the program.
- Synthesize and share key information to support cohort members throughout the program, using email communications and the program’s virtual learning platform to ensure clarity, continuity, and engagement.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for the cohort members.
- Help set program priorities and keep track of key milestones and deliverables according to established program timeline.
- Refine and manage systems to support and track cohort members, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve program processes and enhance overall program efficiency.
- Provide hands-on coordination support across the full arc of the Leadership Journey, from the end-to-end management of virtual learning sessions and in-person residencies to mentor engagements, and communications support for events featuring cohort members and global fellows.
- Contribute to knowledge management by supporting the documentation of key learnings, insights, and reflections across programs running in the India region, ensuring that institutional knowledge is captured and accessible for future program design and delivery.
- Support the Program team in developing of new partnerships by contributing to the landscaping for proposals and translating those into well-structured written documents for prospective partners.
- Assist WomenLift Health communications personnel with the creation of presentations, invitations, brochures, website collateral, social media assets, etc.
- Support program monitoring & learning efforts and ensure timely analysis of data.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIAL
- Bachelor’s degree and 4-5 years or more of related experience in activities including project management, implementation, and partner landscaping.
- Background in gender equity, leadership development, or related fields.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Commitment to WomenLift Health’s mission, vision, theory of change, and unique positioning in the field
- Sophisticated knowledge and use of technology and varying digital platforms (e.g., Zoom, Monday, SharePoint)
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the ability to work well with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects promptly
- Interest in working at the intersection of gender and public health.

- May require up to 10% travel
